This appliance, a Land Rover with bodywork by Glasgow firm Bennett, was originally ordered by the Glasgow Fire Service as a Road Rescue Unit and stationed at Partick Fire Station. The vehicle proved unsuitable for this task as it was too heavy at the rear and caused problems with the steering and headlights. Later converted to a Light Four Wheel Drive Pump, it was stationed at Craighouse on The Isle of Jura and then on the Island of Colonsay.

In 1998 it went into preservation and was kept at East Kilbride Fire station and used by the Community Fire Fighter at Motherwell as a fund raiser for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund at station open days.

The appliance was gifted to the Preservation Group in 2005. Rebuilding of the rear ladder gantry and hosereel mounting platform was carried out by Harvey’s Garage in Renfrew during January 2006.
